History of our firm:
Dees & Associates was founded in 2004 by Rebecca Dees as a sole proprietorship. The firm was incorporated in 2005, with the main office located in Santa Cruz, California. Rebecca Dees is the sole shareholder.
Rebecca (Becky) Dees graduated from San Jose State in 1993 with a BS in civil engineering. Becky graduated with honorable mention and in the top 10% of her class. During her time at San Jose State, she was vice-president, and later secretary, of the Civil Engineering Honor Society, Chi Epsilon, and a member of the engineering honor society Tau Beta Pi.
While attending college, Becky worked part-time as a laboratory and field technician at Haro Kasunich & Associates, a geotechnical and coastal engineering firm in Watsonville, California. She continued working for Haro Kasunich & Associates for fourteen years as a project manager, radiation safety officer, laboratory supervisor, and supervisor of the Caltrans construction testing program.

Dees & Associates, Inc. provides a full range of geotechnical engineering services, including:
Subsurface investigation by test borings, test pits and cone penetrometer
Field and laboratory testing of soil Engineering analysis, including: bearing capacities, settlements, slope stability, liquefaction, seismic site-specific response, lateral earth pressures, pile capacities, debris flows, lateral spreading, and pavements.
Development of geotechnical design criteria and recommendations for residential, commercial and public buildings; and for roadways, dams, bridges, land development, landslide and debris flow mitigation, groundwater control, pavements, and site drainage.
Construction observation and testing services for quality control, in-place density testing, foundations, drainage, erosion control, tie-backs, helix anchors, geosynthetics, and earthworks.
Forensic analysis of geotechnical failures.
Expert witness testimony.
