UCSC Timberframe BarnMark your calendars. On Saturday March 21 a traditional timber frame barn will be raised up at UCSC. This barn will be 113′ long and 40′ wide. it is designed to last 450 years or more. Here is a picture of the model (left).

Karl Bareis of Santa Cruz Timberframes is the chief contractor on this unique project.

Karl will be supported by his apprentices as well as a team of highly skilled timber framers from across the country. He will also have the support of local building professional volunteers.

Karl and the professional volunteers are members of the Santa Cruz Construction Guild.

Bring your family and friends to witness this a once-in-a lifetime Santa Cruz event that will last all day Saturday.
